Music poster studies.

 There aren't many album poster that relate to our genre of music but here are some of the ones I found.

Jay Z is a multi million artist, his poster colours are very common in the rap genre, the red and black, this connotes fire or danger, this could replicate in his lyrics or songs. 
the shot is a close up on this face, showing his fierce facial expressions 
His name and album name are big and bold to attract his audience, This is all in white this contrasts white the black in the background.
The image is seen like a drawing rather than a actual picture.
the title at the top shows that he has been in the game for a long time and his fans have been waiting for an album from him for a long time.

Katy perry is a very well known pop artist her image is very young and colourful as her target audience is young girl, she uses this is her posters. The bright colours attract straight away.
However her pose is very grown up and this attracts her older and male audiences, This is a long full body shot showing her posture and pose. 
The main focus is the image, rather then the text, however her name is repeated in her album, this also links back her her actual album.
The colour scheme within the text is very light, the pinks and yellows shows how dreamy and happy feel to the album, this poster is perfect for katy perry brand. 

Nelly's poster is also very black, white and cream, this is not common with rap posters.
the image is a close up of the face, this shows all his facial expressions, this is also like a pencil drawing kind of image, the ways its edited is very interesting, this is also attractive to the audience.

the name of the artist and the album are both in white font, everything is very back and white, this show the mood and atmosphere of his album
 In terms of the shot, its a medium shot and it is very eye provoking, It creates an mystery for the audience as the head of the woman is off, this makes the audience curious- this is something we want to cooperate in our products.









Pharell is a artist is known worldwide for his producing and rapping/singing. He has said in previous interviews that his world revolves around women so this being his album name and cover was obvious.
The shot is medium, wait up shot, showing his posture, the women are interestingly placed, one behind the other, all on the right , this could connote that women are always right.
All album cover are personal to the artist and this is clearly personal to pharell. This shot is very well lit, it has a happy and positive feel, The title also being yellow.

Wiz khalifah is an american rapper. Normal album cover have the title at the top, but he chose to put it at the side, this could be because he didn't want to obstruct the image, This is also very well lit and clear.
The smoke shows his everyday life, as we all know wiz khalifah is a very heavy smoker, he also has his tattoos in the shot, this is also apart of his brand.
The shot is a medium shot, which is most common in album covers,
The parental advisory logo shows that some of the songs may be inappropriate.
